Well got the big steady rest done today. It is going to work quite well. Anyway built off the same pattern just doubled the size. This one the main frame is 17" X 17". I re-inforced the corners.

Looks very nice. Any fear that the wheel at the upper right would interfere with use of a laser?

Not sure David. Don't have a laser to worry about. I really don't know.

Looks like you are ready to turn some big pieces. Sure it will be rigid enough?

What I've found out is that the part of the steady that crosses the top of the turning form will block the laser so you'll have to revert to doing it by "feel" until the laser shows back up. :)
