Photo album box for the Great grand folks..pics

Here is a box I just did to hold a photo album. It make a great gift for my wifes Grand parents.
Top, front/back and bottom is BE maple, sides are cherry for contrast. Finsih is boiled linseed oil and wax.
I look forward to doing 2 more of these prior to Christmas.

The design is not my own but a variation of one that I saw on the net.....
Dimentions were selected to hold a photo album that we had already purchased.
The box is 3" deep, 15" x 11" wide. The top was dadoed to accept a 5x7" photo and glass. My wife had the very smart idea of buying cheap frames at the dollar store. We used the glass and tossed out the frame.
Hinges are solid brass from Lee Valley, so are the tabs that hold the picture in, the brass chain and screws.
