here's a pic of a marking guage i made a couple of weeks ago out of some sort of rosewood my dad gave me.

Being in a hurry I bought one from one of the local wood stoores, big mistake.
I had thought of making one and wasn't quite sure what to do about where the screw tighens on the shaft, now I know...:)

That just a piece of 3/8ths? solid brass shaft?
