I just saw the advice to another would-be turner about joining a club. Does anyone know of one in the Ft. Worth, TX area?

Thanks,

James

WE have four clubs in the general area.
Golden Triangle in Denton
Woodturners of North Texas in Ft. Worth
Dallas Woodturners in Garland
Hunt County Woodturners up close to Greenville.
Let me know which club is closer and I will get you the contact information.

James, I sent you an email about the Ft. Worth club meeting date and time.

For you the one to go to is the Woodturners of North Texas. Since you live in Benbrook its pretty close by. We meet at the R.D.Evans Community Center on Lackland Road in Fort Worth. Thats right off of I30 at the Ridgemar Mall, also by the Woodcraft. Also the web address for the clubs website is http://www.wntx.org

I am also a member of the Woodturners of North Texas along with Randy and Adam. We meet on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM so Our next meeting will be January 25, 2007. Our only activity in December is a Christmas party where we stuff ourselves on a large holiday banquet, give away lots of prizes, and an auction of member's best turnings that are donated to raise money for the club. Our club gets involved in a number of activities during the year. The next one is the Empty Bowls Project that is conducted by the local food bank and includes bowls made by both potters and woodturners. In April, Stuart Batty will be conducting classes at our club. We conducted formal mentoring programs in October at several members workshops and plan to continue this program along with informal tutoring.

We would love to have you visit us at the next meeting and check us out.

Bill
