Made these last week but had to wait until today for the Watco to dry before I could buff them out. I’m getting a little better at getting a uniform thickness on the bowls but still need a lot more practice.

Large Bowl is 8 1/2” x 3” x 7/16” at rim increasing to 5/8” at bottom.
52334

Medium bowl is 7 1/4” x 2 3/4” by 3/16” at rim, 3/8 at bottom.
52335

Small bowl is 6 1/4” x 2 3/4” x 1/8” at rim, 3/8” at bottom.
52336

Thanks for looking. Comments as always are welcome.

Steve,

These bowls look very nice. I like both the wood and the shape you gave them. Did you get the bowls out of the same blank? If so, what hollowing system did you use?

Dave, thanks for your kind words. Each bowl is from it's own blank. I don't have a coring system as yet but have to admit it would be nice.

Nice looking bowls Steve. I like the shape of the third one best, though they all look great!
Great job.

Steve, I think you did a great job with all three and the finish looks super on all of them, as well! :) I honestly can't pick a "favorite" out of them! :o BTW, I sincerely hope you're wearing good dust protection when sanding on those pieces! You should be on any wood but, in particular, any species with spalting! Again, nice job, Steve. :)

Thanks John! As far as dust protection - I have my Jet 650 DC hose set up right behind whatever I am turning and it takes care of the bulk of anything. While I haven't had any problems - per say - I have started reading about the different wearable dust protection devices out there. For once I would like to play it smart and not wait until it is a problem.

I love those... those have such nice color to them! And you made the shapes so pleasing on them! You did a really nice job! You really should stick your stuff into a gallery (you already got into one on accident)!

I like them all Steve. It's nice that you did a different style of lip on each one. I'm partial to the flare-out-to-thin on #3 but that's a personal preference. They're all very pleasing pieces....and the wood is great! :)
