Any special tricks to routing edge profiles on solid surface materials. Can it be done with router handheld or must one use table? Carbide cutters and big router, but what else is there to be concerned about? What about router speed?

Thanks, Dar

Handheld router is fine. Wear a dust mask. Get ready to have your shop covered in solid surface "snow." Router speed appropriate for the size of bit you are using. No big deal - just messy. Todd.

...experience. I've worked with some. Guy that used to work outta' my shop was certified to work with it, and worried about burning it when routing. He used to take big bites with a 3 1/2 hp router. Curious, though. One doesn't just go purchase solid surface material unless you are certified. Even then, some companies won't sell to you unless you buy regularly. They pretty much have a lock on it.
