Waxing?

I use Target spray lacquer for my top coat. How long should I normally wait before waxing the surface? Wax just seems to make the surface velvet smooth. I use butchers wax.

I'd wait a month for a full cure like most other finishes outside of shellac, but don't typically use wax on my pieces unless that is the finish over oil.
