Is the good face of lumber up or down when cutting on a table saw? Is it the opposite when using a circular saw?

Good face up on the table saw, down for the circular saw. Basically, you want the blade's teet to contact the good face first.

On a table saw, as the blade turns it touches the top of the workpiece first, so the tearout will be on the bottom; therefore the good side should be face up. The opposite occurs with a circular saw, so put your workpiece good side down.
