Skyscraper Lamp

Here is a "Skyscraper Lamp" in progress. It is made from poplar and will get a faux black marble finish with gold leaf applied to the flutes. The CAD picture at the bottom shows the desired result.

I think there is more work in the finishing of the lamp than the actual woodworking. Fortunately, my brothers will take over the finishing process.

Cool. Such a high tech looking lamp needs a high tech bulb. Maybe you could try one of the new LED bulbs.

Cool, but I'm not that keen on the shade. Did you try looking at it with a cylindrical shade instead?

I love the base design...cool idea. I have always been a skyscraper fan, but never thought to make a copy of one in wood.
