View Full Version : Can you dado cork board?

Before I mess up my shop with an explosion of cork board all over the place by a quick try, I thought I just might ask. Looks like it should work.

Soft stuff very prone to "tear out". At the very least you really need to "back it" with some plywood so that you can forcibly hold it down on the saw table. But expect some issues with the edges, even if you have a very fine dado blade setup.

I was always under the impression that the mills band knife the compressed blocks of cork bark into sheets which are then wide belt sanded. I reckon that using a dado head would simply mash it up - carbide tips aren't sharp enough for starters
