Bass

I have been tripping over 10 or so pieces of Bass in my garage for the last few months. They are 4" x 8" x 10' or longer. When I got them I thought I would cut them up to sell for carving but I never got to that. Then I thought maybe they were stout enough to use for a bench. I'm thinking they're probably too soft to use for a bench. Now I'm not sure what to do with them. Any Ideas?

I'm sure the carvers will be drooling, but that basswood will work very nicely for a hefty bench. In fact, someone posted pictures of one "somewhere" awhile back that caught my eye. It was really beautiful.

Give them to a school that still has a woodworking program. Write it off on your taxes.
