CHESTER TOOLWORKS LLC (http://www.chestertoolworks.com/)

Our own Dave Anderson (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/member.php?u=108) has donated two Awl and Knife sets for the next FreeStuff Drawing. Dave is well known for fine traditional hand tools made from figured and exotic hardwoods.

One marking set of awl and knife in Mesquite, and one in Gabon Ebony. Retail value of each set is $74.

Dave makes Awls, Plane Hammers, Bowsaws, Marking Knives and will customize your order. Visit his web site for more details and information.

CTW Awls are designed for hand comfort and durability. The O-1 tool steel blades are taper ground and hardened to Rc 62-63 for approximately 2 inches of their length and terminate in a fine point. The handles are, like the marking knives, made from exotic and figured domestic or tropical hardwoods and are available to match the marking knives.

CTW Marking Knives are made from 3/32" thick precision ground O-1 tool steel and are 5/16" wide. The blades are individually hardened to Rockwell C 62-63 so they will hold an edge and they are shipped honed and ready to use.

Two Winners will be selected.

These are very generous gifts from a master at making fine hand tools. I have a set and would not be without them.

It is hard to cut a joint accurately if you can't lay it out and mark it accurately, and with these guys, at least the marking is dealt with.

Thank all of you for your compliments. To me it's a labor of love, which is to say I'm not intending to quit my day job.:D I feel strongly that it is important to support Sawmill Creek. This group of people has offered me encouragement, the benefits of their experience in any number of woodworking related areas, and most of all, some really wonderful friendships. Since SMC has given to me, I only felt it was right to give back.

So you're drawing today and the winners have 48 hours to post on this thread to claim their prize, cool. How do they get notified that they should post? Or should they just be aware and post like this?

Don't mind me, I'm just a free-stuff craving WW'er ;-)

For those folks hoping that there would be a second drawing because someone didn't respond in the required 48 hours, you're out of luck. Both Sparky Paessler and Dave Bonde sent me PMs to claim their prizes.

There is hope you the rest of you folks though. I'll be donating 2 more sets of marking knives and awls for the Free Stuff Drawings sometime late in 2007.

Again, I thank all of you folks for your kind comments.

There is hope you the rest of you folks though. I'll be donating 2 more sets of marking knives and awls for the Free Stuff Drawings sometime late in 2007. You're a prince Dave. Thanks for the donation, the moderation and the help you've given in the forums.

I know I can't afford to buy something that nice, so I'll have to wait until late 2007 for my next chance to win.
