Hi Folks
I have a customer that would like me to laser a award they have that already has been been lasered with the events name and dept from which it comes, what they would like me to do is add the name and year. I have done some glass with mixed results the glass etching in spots will flake off not leaving a very nice look at all am I hitting it with to much power? (was using 60P& 40s 600dpi) was hoping for some thoughts and ideas on this if any one would like to share them with me . As always thanks for any help in this matter in advance

Get a scrap of glass to experiment on from the local glass shop.

You do need to use fairly low power, also it helps to lay a tissue
across it and mist it with water, then engrave thru that. You didn't say your wattage but the manuals typically call for more power than you need.

Also you might want to try 300 (or even less) DPI. When I do glass I usually hit it at 30 power / 30speed 300dpi. Crystal??? If it contains lead (the higher quality does) you WILL be disappointed as it does not laser well!
