Hi All, I'm making some roll out drawers for the kitchen and wanted to know where to get the glides for this. All my lower cabinets have face frames with center stiles. Can these be removed so I can have larger roll out drawers? Thanks for any info. making these.

I bought full-extension slides from Lee Valley when I built my cabinets.

To answer the question about the center stiles: you can remove them, but in all likelihood you will then have a gap between your doors. You can attach a fake stile to the back of one of the doors in some cases. Consider making two rollouts, one to fit each side.

Dan and Fred, Thanks for the info. That's all I should need. And Dan, I had the same ideas about removing the center stiles. Thanks for confirming that. I'm leaving them in.

The best price I have seen on 3/4 and full extension slides is here:

http://www.gliderite.com/

You buy the slides by the carton, typically 10 pair to the carton, depending on the length, and the cost is about $4 to $6 per pair, including shipping - that's not a typo. And the quality is as good as the higher cost slides. The 70 Series, 100 pound load, full extension slides are the ones I have used in my own home as well as in other installations, and no complaints after two years of use.

Another great source - sliding shelves, if you decide to buy rather than build:

If you remove the center stile carefully, you can reuse it as the filler on the back of one of the doors. Full width sliding shelves are way more useful, since you lose an extra two inches of width, plus the width of the center stile, if you leave the stile in place. I have removed the center stile in several installations, with no harmful after-effects.
