Make a rolling pin! Er...how's that saying go?
I was trying to make a cherry and walnut peppermill for a Christmas gift and had a small...issue...with my measurements. By the time I realized it, it was too late. So, I made a rolling pin out of it, then turned a new peppermill with the proper dimensions. I'm happy with the way things turned out! These mills are a lot of fun to do.

edit: The pin is about 11.5" tall, the mill about 9.5".

Nice, segmenting, etc: but what about handles for the rolling pin?:D

Really like the rolling pin. The handless design will work better than a handled one in most rolling recipes.

Joe, very nice work! I really like the detailing on the pepper mill - did you burn the lines?

Thanks! They are burned in. I cut guide grooves for them by laying my parting tool on its side and lifting the handle up so it cut a vee like a scraper. I used to use a skew, but this makes a nice, clean, shallow groove to guide the wire in for burning.
