Bowl is 6” x 2 1/8” x 3/16” , two coats of Watco 'Natural' Danish Oil (waited 72 hours) and then buffed. Any and all comments are welcome.

Steve..........That wood and bowl do justice to each other! Well done sir! I've got some birch that I haven't gotten a single complete work out of due to cracks. I'm getting frustrated!

Ken, how long have you had the birch? I ask because all the birch that I have I have let sit - somewhat exposed to the elements for about 1 1/2 years before I started turing anything with it. It spalds pretty good and remains very wet - BUT - there is a fine line for me as to when I can turn it. Turn to early and no spalding - wait a little to long and parts of it turns into balsa wood. The alcohol drying method has really worked for me with the birch - as far as bowls. You may want to give that a try.
