Hi Andrew - I haven't tried that blade, but there aren't many Freud blades that aren't a good value for the asking price. That said, Freud's Industrial series is a step up, and Amazon has their best crosscut blade on sale for $62 with free shipping...the LU85R010. The LU85 is a full kerf...the LU74R010 is the TK version if you prefer (~ $50 shipped) ...assuming you mean 10".

I actually run that blade on my miter saw. It does quite well. There's still the need for a backer board in oak and ash or there's a little bit of tearout but those wood are notorious for that. I think I'll go for a negative hook blade next time.

The Industrial Series that Scott referred to is considered a step above the Professional Avanti series even though they are made of the same materials on the same equipment. The TK806 (80T) that is at Lowe's is currently being changed to HiATB grind and lower hook angle and that would be a great choice for the SCMS. You can identify the new version because it has a sticker that says "Precision Shear Grind". If the new version isn't available at your store you are better off with the TK606 if you can find one.
