Yet another DIY Tank Stand

Hi All,
I'm prepairing to biuld another tank stand. This one is for a 5.5 gallon tank.
Here is a computer rendering of what I am planning.

I really like the intent of the design. Great idea.

I'd open the sides some more. Perhaps retain the negative shape and fill in the remaining positive space with holes randomly placed and sized to simulate air bubbles rising? Or embelish the positive sapce with accenting wood?

Just my $.02 worth.

I installed an A.H. Supply 18 watt compact light with reflector. There is plenty of room around the reflector to disperse heat and the transformer is held away from the wood by washer spacers. Notice I also put in a vent whole also.

Very nice fish tank stand. Tropical fish used to be one of my hobbies when we lived in an apartment.

That is really nice!! Much better than looking at the plastic cover, etc. Maybe I will make a stand for my 10 gallon unit with a similar design.

Okay, I'm biased because I built it, but I have never seen anything like this stand and looks magnificent. The only thing I need to work on is finding an alternet to the exposed nails.
