A few days ago I posted that I was not overwhelmed with the edge surface finish of my new LM74, see: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=46460
In that thread, Brain Hale (and others) suggested that I might have had the blade height set too high. Well tonight I finally had some time to put the LM74 back in the TS and give it another try. I set the blade about 3/32-1/8 above the 1” QSWO. Low & behold the finish was much improved! I still wouldn’t call it a “sand free” finish but it will only need a light sanding before finishing. The as-cut finish is plenty good enough for glue-ups and I guess that was what the blade was designed to do in the first place.
Overall, I am very pleased with the blades performance.
