One thing I know is that one can find answers to almost anything from SMC members.

I am installing a suspended ceiling in my basement. I want to do what I think is called a vertical drop to drop down and cover the heat ducts. I would hate to have the entire ceiling at the same level as the ducting. Can any of you point me towards some information about how this is accomplished?

Box anything that hangs below the level of the ceiling with studs (2x3 metal works great - really great- here) and sheetrock. Then install the drop ceiling. Treat the boxed areas as wall sections. I've seen jobs that tried to wrap everything with ceiling rails/panels.... it always looks bad and is prone to getting knocked out of whack.
