Wow! It was humid and 79 degrees yesterday. 27 now, with thunderstorms and rain all night, some sleet in the area, and more rain/sleet/snow later today!! And where am I??? At work of course. I may not be smart, but I am loyal!
To all that can, stay home. It's not bad now, but it will be. I talked my wife out of driving to N. Dallas this morning for a vet appointment with a specialist from Tex. A&M. Safer to take a day later and drive to College Station than to risk injury driving in this mess. Stay warm! Jim.

Just got into work myself. 16 degrees and icy/snow packed roads but everyone still were driving like idiots (average NM driver...)

So that's where our miserable weather went. After 3 days of icy roads and hundreds of stranded cars all over the place, low of 16 yesterday we finally warmed up to the high 30s this morning and got some rain to start washing away the ice and snow.

You guys be careful.

It was 64 yesterday morning at 7:00. It was 29 when I left work at 5:00 and it is 17 this morning with a 40 mph wind out of the north. The wind chillis in single digits. We have only had two days (barely) below freezing this year so this is a major shock to the system:eek: . It has been several years since we have had weather this cold and I still don't like it. We have about an inch of ice covered by 3" of sleet/snow on the ground with several of the major roads closed with wrecks. I'm staying home today, a day of vacation is cheaper than my deductible plus my granddaughter's day care was closed so I get to spend some quality time with her:).

Eddie,

That's pretty rare.

This is the first time they closed it in probably 10-12 years. I doubt that I'm going to get much sympathy from you about cold weather;) . This is probably what you call a warm spell in Minnesota this time of year:) .

All I can say is the Packers came to town and it started to snow, they left, back to warm rain. Go figure ;)

My parents, in San Antonio, are feeling the cold coming in right now...but they just decided to run over to New Mexico for 2 or 3 days to watch the snow fall in the mountains. Retirement sounds nice.:)

Me?....I'm looking for a good snowblower to mount to my tractor.

While not as extreme as in Texas, our weather here in Ontario is changing quickly as well. We've had highs of 10-15c (60f) the past few days, but today it's rainy and the temp is dropping and Friday's forecast looks ugly:

Rain mixed with ice pellets changing to snow in the afternoon and ending in the evening then cloudy. Rainfall amount 15 mm. Wind northeast 40 km/h gusting to 70 becoming southwest 40 gusting to 70 early in the afternoon. High plus 4.

And I'm facing a 5hr drive in that, through Toronto even, to get to a family weekend visit. Sigh.
