My Son-in-Law has been bitten by the lathe bug since I gave him one of my old lathes (Craftsman) a while back. His woodworking skills were not very good and I have been giving him a lot of tools (whenever I upgrade a tool I just give him what I replaced).
I have been working with him to improve his WW skills and I guess I have created another monster. He is a real good mechanic and good with his hands (which really helps). He takes to woodworking like a duck to water. Here are some pics of a couple bowls he brought by Saturday.
Not bad since he only has a face plate on his lathe - I guess it is time for me to find him a decent chuck - It is tough being both a teacher and a FIL :D
The first one is cherry/walnut/oak. The second is cherry.
