GARDNER, Kan. - A young father who was inside his Gardner home when it blew up on Saturday afternoon has died.
He was lacquering cabinets in the kitchen when the explosion happened, leveling the home.
Fumes from the lacquer built up, and a spark from an appliance triggered the blast.
He suffered burns over 80 percent of his body, according to firefighters.
He was taken to an area hospital, where he died Sunday afternoon.
