I bought it as cherry. The picture is not that good but the grain is as plain as a magic marker.
Any Ideas?
I have about 10bf that I will be using for a blanket chest top.

The iridescence up and down the left and right sides, and the sap pocket, says cherry to me.

I agree with KC and John. The sap pocket is a dead giveaway. Nice looking grain in that board...........it should make a fine top for that Blanket Chest. Don't forget to let us see the chest when it is done! :D

So, whazza sap pocket?
1. a place for a sock with some lead pellets in it?
2. My pants pocket?
Seriously, I recognize the shape of the grain, and have seen that as distinctive of cherry, but is the sap pocket the little sworls of grain that enclose a lighter spot?

Is the sap pocket the thick dark "vein" running down the lower half, slightly to the right of middle?

to 400 grit with 5-6 coats of either tung or danish steel wooled in between coats and that will be a great looking cherry blanket chest .......
