Hi,
I would like to glue a decorative edging of bubinga around a walnut serving tray, however I know that because of the movement of the wood, it is ill-advised. Here is my question: I know that the smaller the board, the less movement, so at some point a glued-on edging will be okay. What is the size threshold? Edging around a 4"x4" (inches) square piece I believe would be okay. On a 2'x2' (feet) square piece it wouldn't. Any thoughts on how large the board will be to prohibit edging would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

you could try fooling around with this shrink calculator

http://www.woodbin.com/calcs/shrinkulator.htm

and see what would be a reasonable amount of movement.
