The box lid on the left is veneered with some sort of mystery wood that came out of a "grab bag" box of veneer. Any guesses? It's has dark and medium brown which is seperated by a lighter color (white-ish to silver-ish). The dust from sanding is a orange (iron) color which pretty much rules out domestic walnut. It's open pored like mahogony and has it's finishing characteristics. It' really brittle stuff, even for veneer. Cutting it was a challenge and required a sharpening session on the tools.

I can't find chocolate zebrawood anywhere in my tree books :D but if I had to name it that's where I would go.
