Turned this one for Mr. Bob Merithew, (were kinda on a first name basis...) my favorite teacher... He's a great guy, young too :p and he has some really cool engineering classes... he also gives me wood :D not that i need it... but ya know... never can refuse some nice maple now can ya?! anywayyyy just as a general thank you/birthday gift for him.

Critique?? I know about that circle on the lid... i think its bruising but i didnt see it until after it was all done and off the lathe and i didnt wanna mess up the shape trying to fix it...

Ahha! Something I can make for Christmas that I hadn't thought of!

Critique? I might have left the knob off of the top for a clean shape that lets the grain flow around the form. (artsy, but it also makes it hard to get the lid off if the humididity changes...)

Very nice stamp box Ben, looks like you did a nice job matching the grain up very little lost in parting the lid off.

I thought the circle of the lid was part of the design! I like it!
The design and choice of wood give it a very clean look, the
small knob finishes it off nicely. Good job - I'll take two!!

Very nice idea Ben...

But who can afford to "invest" in a whole roll of stamps anymore! :p

Thanks for the post - I'm sure that I will hijack your idea and make a few for some of the folks that I know that don't actually pay their bills online...including SWMBO!

She never has trusted this new-fangled internet thingie....
