I'm hoping to get myself a 14'' bandsaw in coming months, and starting to do my homework.Any thought on Grizzleys "ultimate14'' saw-model #go555 " ? I used to think I allways wanted a Delta, but I'm not leaning that way any more.

I don't have a Grizzly, but I've read many good things about the model from reports here at the Creek. I bought an old Delta (1948) and love it, although it doesn't have the new bells and whistles.

Whatever you choose, make sure to call Iturra Design (888-722-7078) and get their catalogue. It's a great resource and reads more like a text on 14" bandsaws than a catalogue.

And, of course, when you do get the bandsaw, we need pics.

The G0555 seems to get good comments from owners.

Great saw for the money. Get the riser block kit for it makes a great difference in resawing.

If you are willing to spend the money, the new Rikon 10 325 looks very promising. I was going to get one, but have convinced myself to go with the 18" 10-345.

Many are "upgrading" to bigger BS, so there are some bargins in a used 14" Delta perodiaclly- patience. Some have gone for as little as $100. $250- $350 is normal range. Keep an eye on local Craigslist along with for sale in forums.

I too bought the Rikon 10-325...No problems at all! Nice machine. I'm very happy with the choice.:)

I have a G0555 with riser block, and have been very happy with it.

If you plan on doing a lot of resawing with wide (6"-12") hardwoods, it will work ... if you take your time. It doesn't have the power some of the larger (more expensive) machines possess for 'production' resawing. But as an all-purpose BS, it is well made, and works great.

I noticed that Grizzly has them on sale for under $400 right now.

I just purchased the Shop Fox w1706 for $465.00 Tax included. You can't beat the price and the Shop Fox has Cast Iron wheels. It is really quiet and Shop Fox has a better Warranty.
