Anyone ever turn Mulberry?

I have a chunk on the lathe and man is it Yellow. Is there any way to keep it that way or is it gonna turn dark red no matter what?

My only experience with Mulberry was with a chunk of wood too far gone to do anything with... so I don't know what to tell you - other than GIT'R DONE!!!

I turned this Mulberry 2 years ago, you can see it's darkened considerably. It was finished with Danish oil only. I don't know if a finish with UV inhibitors will help or not. It does turn very nicely.;)

Mulberry and Osage Orange both start out bright yellow, but mellow to brown over time as Travis' pictures illustrate. Nature of the beast.
