It has been a long time since I last posted here. I have been visiting as time permits but having a baby and a booming business while still enjoying turning does not leave a lot of time to spend on the various different forums! I have been into pens lately and have spent most of my time at penturners.org so as to not bore you guys with mere pens! Anyway, here are a few unique pens I have made recently.

In order of apearance:

Algarita Churchill cast with black resin to fill the voids and cracks
Blue resin prickly pear cactus Gent in Tit. Gold
Capul Negro root (unique Texas wood few have never even seen) cast with gold resin to fill the space once occupied by dirt!
Wooly Bugger (millet) cast in clear resin with black painted tubesThanks for looking guys! Coments always welcome, good or bad.

WOW really cool looking pens. Where do you get you kits & especially where do you get your material to turn?

Do you make your own castings or purchase them?

Boy those are some really nice pens and bet you sell them for a few dollars. Well done and this is coming from someone who never has turned a pen yet. But after looking at those I am going to have to talke the plunge. I also would like to say the photography is great.

"Bore us"??? I think not, Curtis! Those are wonderful. I've done a lot of pens in my day but, I know that none of them would match your expertise. Well done! :)

What a good news! Congratulation to you and your wife. :)

I love your pens and in particular the cactus and wooly bugger ones. Quite ingenious, unexpected of very decorative impact. Congratulation.
May I use your pics to show at the next group of students coming to the next training program?
