Do you have any pictures of the blank that you turned it from? I'm curious about the cut, orientation, etc..

Beautiful work! I would be interested in seeing some 'how to' photos next time you do an NE - if you have the time.

Here's how one of the big blanks started:

Here is it when I started it out on the lathe:

I turn the outside profile and a tenon on the bottom. Then turn it around and grab the tenon in the chuck and hollow out the inside. Ended up lookin' like this in the rough:

Another Awesome bowl Mark!! Great pictures, inspired me to take my first shot at a NE. Not quite as large as yours but most of the bark stayed on!Whats that big "Yellow Thing" your wood is mounted on?! Thanks, Skip
