well heres my first "true" NE bowl... :D

5 1/2 w at top, base is 1 5/8, 3 in high at the highest... and about 1/4 in thick throughout... In the second to last photo if you look carefully you can see a smaaallll amount of curl... I think...

Critique pls

sorry for all the pics but I feel like i need to show every angle or else you wont see the whole object... sorry....

Ben, I like it. It's a little heavy on the bottom for my tastes, but all in all a good job. NEs are fun!

Ben......I generally date, sign and put what type of wood it is as soon as it's finished. At my age.....if I don't ......5-10 days from now I won't remember..:D I'll put a smilie in but sometimes it isn't funny!

Ben: Good NE, but I have to agree with Mark that it's a bit too squatty at the bottom. Keep them coming, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and the whole SMC gang.

Nice job on keeping the bark hanging in there. The first time is pretty daunting. I have to agree with others that an even curve would be more attractive. I think a lot of times with natural edges we try to keep more wood in the bottom of the bowl than we should because we're concentrating on that natural edge. follow through with a good rounded shape on the bottom before even thinking about the top.

Overall, a nice looking piece. Well centered ring pattern and nice wood selection. I'd give it an A.
