The pictures that follow are of a Jewelry box I built for my Son to give to his girlfriend at Xmas time. The lid is book matched Curly Maple. Resawed it on the Band Saw and have enough for a few more lids. Carcase is Cherry matched on 3 sides and the Keys are Maple. This is the first box I have lined with Faux Suede. It takes some practice, but comes out well when finished. The box has 2 coats of BLO, 4 coats of sprayed gloss lacquer and one coat of Satin Lacquer.

Wow Mike, that's a sweet box!
Your son's gf will be very pleased. The maple strips and keys really contrast well.
And the inside is done well also. The lift knob is a nice touch.

Mike,
Very nice box. I like the contrasting woods. I like the way you took the pictures as well. Makes for a nice shot. Good job.
