Has anybody noticed the interesting article by our Bob Smalser in the "Tool and Shop" issue of FWW? Very well done as you'd expect.

I know Bob from the WoodenBoat Forum where I've been a member for several years. The breadth of the man's knowledge is incredible!

I just read his article in the Tools and Shops issue and agree that it's a great read. I recently looked for some bevel edge chisels to rehab and unfortunately, word has gotten around to most of the flea markets and such. Most any old chisel is $10 + which is around the cut point for me. With so many good (excellent) choices of new chisels at or near that price I can't make sense of spending more money jsut for the romantic appeal of an old tool.

Bob's instructions on making a handle for socket chisels is very good. Does anyone know if a vendor sells bevel edge sockets without the handles?
