Hi all,
I have come across some old Union hand planes that were once my grandfather's. I know that these planes have to date back to the 1920's or so. I have not been able to find out any information on them as this time. Does anybody know where I could obtain some information?

The Union works of CT was in business for a very long time ( I don't remember exactly how long). I have a 28" wooden jointer which was my G-G-Grandfather's which is marked Chapin by Union Works and it dates from about the 1860s. I have absolutely no idea when they began making metal bodied planes. Maybe someone else can chime in until I can get home and research it in my copy of wooden plane makers of No america.

Thanks.
I will actually see if I can get more information of the the plane this weekend. At least you have given me a place to start some research.
Have a great Thanksgiving holiday. :)
