Hi guys,

Here in Europe it is customary to have table saw arbors with a diameter of 25 mm, whereas the table saw blades in the US have a hole of 1 inch, i.e. 25.4 mm. I travel often to the US and would like to buy some table saw blades in the US. Is it feasible to insert an adapter ring with the dimensions 25/25.4 mm, i.e. only 0.2 mm thick, and can it be purchased anywhere?

Regards
Tom

I talked to Bill Solomon at Universal Saw & Tool in Tacoma, WA. He thinks they might have some spacers but he doesn’t like them. They are so small that they fall out on a regular basis. He suggested having the arbor bored out to accept a bigger spacer.

Saws with any arbor you desire should be available from any top end saw shop. There are many, many European machines used in the US.

So I guess your answer is that it is feasible but awkward.

The most common way I know of to accomplish this is to bore the blade to 30mm and use a bushing to reduce to 25mm.

Hi Tom, I think your best bet is to buy a 30mm bore blade and then get a saw blade bushing for the 25mm arbor. Guhdo (made in Germany) has them part number 5015.030.25. Guhdo USA sells mostly blades for the standard European 30mm arbor.
take care,
John

Wouldn't it be just as easy to buy blades with 5/8" diameter arbor holes and bore them to 25mm. That way you avoid the spacer washer.

I know that Forrest will bore their blades for any size arbor for a small up charge. Great blades too...joe
