I have to say, it's a nice place here.

On something like this I sand to 600, than apply and wipe off two coats of finish, letting each coat dry. Then I sand just enough with 800 to knock off any nibs. I then apply a third coat without wiping it off. I let it dry and then sand with 1000 to knock off any more nibs. From there I buff with some wheels and compound I picked up at a big box store.
