A while back my wife was at a 2nd hand store for something and found a used cutting board. She thought the wood looked nice so she bought it for 50 cents and brought it home. When I saw it I just kind of laughed and told her it was nice wood but I didn't really know what I could do with it. It was about 12" x 15" x 1", well used and hacked up pretty bad. Today I decided to try and renovate it and make a round cutting board out of it. So I ended up with an 11.5" round cutting board, 3/4" thick. It has some walnut oil rubbed on it. The only wood I'm sure of is the center piece of maple but it was all nice, pretty, hard wood.

Cool!

Third wood out (the orangey one) kinda looks like the long leaf pine flooring I have in my living room.

Very nice Curt. You couldn't have bought the stock to make that board for 50¢. Nice find. The wood as best I can tell appears to be Maple, Walnut, Pine, Walnut and then what appears to be Cherry. Very nice renovation.
