The Star of India is an 143 year old tall sail sailing ship homeported in San Diego, CA. It holds the Guiness record for being the oldest active sailing vessel in the world. My son volunteers as one of the crew. The other evening he asked me if I knew any wood turners. When I asked why, he stated that the ship needed some new pins. I don't know the specs, but if anyone is interested in providing assistance to this ship please send me a private e-mail and I will put my son in contact with you. TIA

So would you accept them from Australia?

Aren't the pins sorta like bonkers? Sounds like the kind of thing this crew would jump all over. I won't be turning for a while yet but it sure sounds fun!! :)

How many and from what type of wood? I'd be happy to give them a go!

Hi John

I have turned white oak pins for the Martha Washington ,they were the part they tied the wrope around, Im not sure if what you are looking for is the same thing.I have access to a duplicator so I can give exact results ,sometimes needed for historical preservation.
