This was just thrown together with a bunch of scraps that I've been tripping over for a while now.The top is an old walnut bowl that I never got around to finishing. The body was an old cherry plank that was warped beyond use. I cut 9 stave's from it and straightened them on the joiner as best I could. And the bottom is a combo of pine and ash. As you can see I'm in need of some practice in the finial department. I didn't go crazy sanding either. My daughter was over my shoulder the whole time asking if it was done yet!:D Thanks for looking.

That is pretty neat. How did you attach the top and base to the cylinder?

Very nice Kurt. Nice idea and use of wood laying around the shop. BTW, the LOML says that it's too nice to put outside.....soooooo....it's a nice bird house for the living room. :p  ;)

Thanks Guys for your comments! Mark. I used CA to glue the top on. It has a tenon. The bottom also has a tenon but is held in place by 2 screws so it could be removed for cleaning. The stave's are 2 3/8" long point to long point with a 17 Degree angle. I stole this idea from the Turning Techniques television show so I can't take credit for it.:D
