I need to make a tool to cut 100 5/32" holes to inlay. If I could buy one I would but the smallest I've seen is 1/4" I have some brass tubing with the right ID but would need to make teeth and either use by hand on thin veneer or try a drill press. I will use a 5/32'brad point to make the hole so I need plugs to be accurate. Any suggestions on making the teeth

I don't have a suggestion on cutting teeth, but what about the alternative of sharpening the tubing into more of a cutting die? In either case, I would think that steel tubing would be a better material if you could find some with the appropriate ID.

Google for "leather punch 5/32" holes." There are several types and they should be able to handle veneer.

Hi Henry,
I have an old dowel maker that works by just pounding the blank thru a metal die. If your pipe has the right inside dimension and you can mill a sharp edge on the inside surface with the bevel out, you could make your own dowels for plugs with the wood species you need to match. Could you redrill the holes to a size esier to match?? JCB.

Henry, how exact do they have to be. If you wanted you could chuck up a 1/4 dowel in a drill and sand it to the size you needed...put a indicater 5/32/.15625 off of the flat surface and start sanding.
or drill a 5/32 hold in a piec of metal and get it started...sand against the hole and as it turned down to side it would slip through the hole
that way you would have stability the full length of the rod
Reg....
then again I might be full of it
