Here are a couple of pics of a TV Console I'm working on. This will house a 42" plama TV and raise/lower by remote. It's about a week away from going into the finish room. It's a pretty big cabinet - 73"x40"x14". The two front openings will be covered with panels held in place with magnets.

James, I would love to see some action shots with the plasma installed!
How ridgid is your lift? The few that I have seen (cheap ones) racked so much that I'd be afraid to mount a high dollar plasma or LCD on them.

Looks simple and elegant. What do you plan on doing for a finish?

Why no mention of Mr Anonymous over here on the Creek? ;)

LOL, someone was dogging me yesterday (Chris) about not showing work-in-progress, so I accidentally let it slip that it was him on another forum; now he wants his 15 minutes of fame here too.;)

Interesting that you post this... I had a customer a few weeks ago that wanted me to bid on this type of project. I passed - for a lot of different reason... fear being the big reason...(not the cabinet build but working with a $3000 mechanism and then breaking it in the process).

What type of lift are you using? What is the little black mark on the side panel? Where will you store your component?

I love the details of the cabinet, close up of the rope molding is very cool...and love the ornamentals... great work.

Thanks Gail. I did a lot of research into TV Lifts before the project. These things are all over the map in terms of technology and price. The one I settled on is supplied by G&G Trade Corp. They also supply the Lift's that Rockler sells. The black mark on the left side of the console is a rocker switch you can use if the remote fails (or is lost).

In this application, the customer has all her audio/video components in a dedicated closet, so this console is for the TV only.
