Turned from some spalted maple I have. It's semi-punky and prone to tearout. Had a miserable time making a bowl from it, even though it had nice spalt lines. Much easier time of it in end grain HF orientation.

Even though I've a good surface finish it didn't buff up to the shine I prefer. Finished with Watco Danish oil. I may coat it in something else to bring the shine up.

Nice Bob. I like working with the Epoxy Manhatten mixture when it comes to the heavily spalted pieces. Sure strengthens it up and makes turning easier. Pretty piece!
