A friend was asking if I had ever seen a clamp that not only clamped boards together but lined them up also. He said he had seen some that clamped from the sides of a panel and also the top and bottom at the same time. Sounds like a great way to glue up large panels.
Thanks John Schoenauer

also, i think these bessey edge clamps work in conjunction with the bessey tradesman clamps... i believe they hook into the horizontal tradesman clamp, and provide vertical pressure... never used them though..

Any good bar clamp helps align the boards. The single bar clamps (not the previously shown systems) won't pull misaligned boards into alignment, but they give a pretty decent reference point to knock them into position. I usually stagger this type clamp from one-on-top to one-on-bottom down the line. That also helps to keep from bowing the bars and the panel.

That is not to say that they will work as slick as these clamping systems for panels. I would love to try a couple of the systems, and will one day. But with care, the heavier bar clamps will do the job.
