I got off work this morning and was going to meet some people for breakfast. Some people were going to be a little late getting off so I decided to run home and let my dog out. My newspaper had already blown off my porch so I grabbed it and took a quick look at the tools & machinery section. I saw a new add listing several tools and gave a call. The gentleman answering the phone seemed a little startled that I had called but did set up a time to meet with me in a couple of hours when he got home.

After a couple hours passed and a quick run to the bank this is what came home with me.

After talking with the seller it seems that he just ordered a new Delta TS and his wife was none too happy about it. He agreed to sell some tools that he doesn't use much. However, he wasn't aware that she was going to run the add the next day!

I finally was the first to call on an add that had tools that I really could use, and not the guy just pulling up as they were being loaded up by someone else. I paid $500 and am now the proud new owner of a pair of tools that I think I will get much use out of.

Now I can read the Leigh manual before I head to bed this afternoon.

I just paid $429 (plus tax) for the 10-22 and thought I got a really good deal. The packs of sandpaper are about $25 each. With a "free" Leigh dovetail jig thrown in, you definitely have a gloat there.

Nice score.

That is a great find and gloat, but, what about the MAN LAWS (are they in effect since they are still married?).

D4 for free? Isn't there a law against that?

Nice deal!

Now that I have had a chance to play around with the drum sander a bit I can see why they don't come up for sale that often. It really does a nice job and I am looking forward to trying it out on some veneers I have cut.

The Leigh jig was really just a "throw in" for me. I had not really been looking for one, but I know the reputation they have and thought that for the price I would give it a try. I have been reading the manual (perhaps the best I have ever seen) and I see how there could be many times I might now consider dovetails where before I have looked for other alternatives.
