I stumbled upon an Atlas 7122 in perfect shape. 12" swing, 36" bed length, wired for 110v, 1/2 hp motor (7.0A), comes with 5 faceplates (he didn't specify), 3 toolrests, and a mess of cutting tools.

Very nice gentleman -- it was his father's lathe from the 70's, and it hasn't seen much use since. Purs like a kitten, and seems to be in spotless shape. Is it worth $290? Is a good starter lathe to start turning bowls and HFs?

Thanks!

I just did a Google search and found a couple that either have sold for $590 or are listed for sale at $590.

Saw one on ebay that went for that - it also listed it as a 16 speed from 220-4800 rpm - nice range. Weight looks decent at over 250#

Hmmm, you're a couple hours away from me .... I take that back - looks like a terrible lathe, where did you find it again? :P
