Well seems I will be losing my lumber storage area(brothers barn) he is selling his farm.Any one got pics of their outdoor storage.Must have 500 plus bd ft of various woods.

Open to the air is fine, but it should be covered to keep rain and snow from "standing" on the lumber. Perhaps it's time to put up some kind of shed to do that. This could be a "lean-to" on the side of your shop or a free-standing structure.

Tom, I live in So Cal and weather is not a problem for us here but I went to a shipping container company and I purchased and old steel shipping container, the roof leaked but was an easy fix and I replaced the floor with wood and built shelving to hold my larger stock on end. I had the driver deliver it right on top of 4 railroad ties just to keep it off the ground. I purchased a very small unit, 18', double doors on both ends and it was $400.00, but that was a few years ago...
