Lou,

That is a beautiful table. I especially like the drawers and your dovetails are gorgeous. How did you cut them?

Thanks. I used my PC4212 to cut the dovetails.

Lou that is awesome. The whole thing, the wood selection, the inlaid work, the dovetails and the finish. Very nice job.

Very nice, Lou. Is the frame Mahogany? And what species did you use for the contrasting band inlay?

And where are the players? ;)

The frame is African Mahogany, Maple for the white squares and Bloodwood for the inlay.

Very nice looking, makes me want to take up chess again...:)

I like the inlay, hope to do some of that in the near future and hope mine goes as well as yours did.

Great job Lou, Wood selection, joints, everything. Thanks for posting and already answering my question about wood selection.
How much time do you have invested in this table.
take care,
John

Hard to tell how much time. I have been working on it for about two months, mainly on the weekends.

I got the basic dimensions from a few chess tables I saw on the internet, but the rest of the design was mine.
