I have a bunch of scraps that are begging to be made into cutting boards. Anyone have plans? I thought there was an article in a recent mag but I cant find it. anyone remember?

Thanks

Jason,
It was the next to last WOOD magazine that came out.

plans? we don't need no steenkink plans...

seriously though, yes two issues ago in wood there was an article on how to do some snazzy ones. I've had great luck with 'that looks good' cutting boards, random widths and species glued up with polyurethane glue. Great scrap user-uppers.

End grain or long grain? Both have their appeal.
Long grain are pretty straightforward, just put some strips together.

Here are a bunch I made in the spring/summer: Four cutting boards thread (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=42671) and Walnut/Oak end-grain board (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=37474)

As for plans, Fine Woodworking had some cutting boards about 6-12 months ago, but not end-grain.

Someone here had some tutorials on cutting boards on their website. Who was that, was it Vaughn? Yes it was (http://workingwoods.com/workingwoods/cutting_boards.htm).

Have fun.

Check Mike Schwing's tutorial in the Articles section of this forum. Made a bunch a couple of years ago and got lots of compliments.
