Well, I'm almost there. My elecrtical is getting signed off tomorrow, and I'll begin framing the wall benches in my garage soon.

I am building wall counters/benches on 3 walls of a double garage, and am looking for some inspiration. I would love to see some other options, I also want to look at intergrating some tools, (Planer, Mitre Saw etc) on the benches. Also, I'm trying to avoid drawers as I have a tendency to pack them with uselsss junk. :P

Here's what I'm sort of after:

We built Norms miter station. With drawers and trays underneath. Full extension slides.

Within the last year, I upgraded my entire, nearly thirty foot long wall bench. Put a new MDF surface on it and built in my new DeWalt planer so that the bench acted as both in-feed and out-feed tables. I have around ten or twelve feet of in-feed and out-feed capability with this set up. As you can see, I also have a radial arm saw built into the bench. This was actually there since the inception of the shop, but with the upgrade I also added some t-track so that I could build in a nice stop block application for assembly line cross cutting of things.

The drawing you have is very similar to some benches I've built, but I built them with back legs and didn't attach them to the back wall. That way I could move them when we moved and move them around in the shop as needs change. For tops, I used 2 layers fo 7/16" OSB because it is cheap, followed by a layer of tempered hardboard which I can remove and replace when it gets too beat up. I built two 4' benches, but left the top at 8' across the two of them. When we moved, I was able to cut them apart for easy moving, then use a cleat to connect them back together. Mine does not integrat the MS station, but could be modified to do so.
